Richard Lowry is a furniture designer from London, England. He was taught to make things by his grandfather – a wooden boat builder and, after working for many years as a cabinetmaker making bespoke luxury furniture for private and commercial clients, he became interested in the relationship between furniture and art. He produces pieces in his South London studio where he explores where the line between furniture and art lies and how craft can be used in new ways.
