Meritxell Duran (Barcelona, 1964) works in the world of illustration, sculpture and objects. She teaches for schools such as l’Escola Eina, l’Escola Massana, Elisava, Instituto Europeu del Diseño, and IDEP (Barcelona).
She has lectured at the Museu Picasso (Barcelona), at Puertas de Castilla (Murcia), and the inaugural Eina School 2011 lecture.
In press illustration she has worked for newspapers such as La Vanguardia, El Mundo, Diari Avui, El Periódico de Catalunya, El País, International Herald Tribune, Woman, Qué Leer, and more.
She has collaborated for companies such as Estudio Mariscal, Audiconsultores, Nani Maraquina, ImaginaComunicació, Villar - Rosas, Summa Comunicación, Imagina comunicació, Renault Design Barcelona, Barcelona City Council and de l'Hospitalet, Generalitat de Catalunya, TV3 i Alemany Xocolaters, Cacaolat, Solé Graells, Pastisseria Canal, l'Illa Diagonal, Pedralbes Center.
She has won the Ciutat de Barcelona (1999), Junceda d ’Il.lustració (2004-2011), and the Vegap Grant (2003) awards.
In 2018, she moved to the mountains and founded a project about growing vegetables, cooking them and serving them at the table, and her ceramic works were created for preparation and serving of these nourishing meals.
